I voted Soren as well; he's one of my most favorite characters, and he's pwnsome like that.
Revival would be a good idea.
But I'm afraid that would be near impossible.

Nope. Naesala can use Wind in FE9 because of a skill he has. Thus, he is technically a magic user.

*ugh not this again* The difference is that its a skills. He has no skill level in magic, he's not a magic user. He doesn't even have a magic skill level! Furthermore thats like saying every character in FE10 is a magic user because of Reaper card, ect.

^Wow. You almost seem mad.
Compared to the reaper card, however, the skill says that it allows the user to attack with wind. Wind is a spell, thus, Naesala uses magic. Not saying it's useful, but it is there.

We had an interesting discussion about Mist being a sword user at FEB, this is even worse. He does not have a weapon ranks in any sort of magic. His skill has magic, not him. It is the exact same as a reaper card.

Is that saying Sothe, Volke,and the sages aren't knife wielders in FE9? They can wield knives because of a skill, not a weapon rank, but the fact remains that they can wield knives. Thus, Naesala is a magic user because he can wield wind, which is a spell.
This is kind of fun. I wanna get in an Tier debate now.

Wow I swore I responded about this...
The reason Mist isn't a sword user is because Kieran, Oscar, ect. Aren't. Because its not their weapon focus. Even upon Promotion they might have the option to pick swords, but they aren't sword users.
Knives are bit more tricky, but the difference is they can use knives, Naesala is using a skill that uses magic, he can't equip magic, ect. And Sages aren't knife users, you shouldn't be picking knives.
No you don't....

I know you shouldn't be picking knives, but the option is still there.
Mist IS a sword wielder, because she can wield swords. Not only that, but comparing her to cavaliers in unfair, because she HAS to get swords when she promotes, that is her only way of fighting, unless you count offensive staves, such as sleep and berserk.
Naesala's skill is unique, which is what seperates it from a magic card. Then, it uses magic for "Wind" so I consider him a magic user.

Except he has no control on whether it activates. He's no magic user. Its like calling a character in a book, who happens to have a knife and kills with it a knife fighter, even when he just uses it cause its all he could grab.
Makalov wasn't even on the poll...And its perfectly fair. She has multiple weapons, they do too. Their main weapon isn't the sword (with Makalov exception), nor is hers. They can gain sword on promotion, so does she, additionally neither has to promote.

Best magic user in FE9 is Rhys. Good supports and healing utility.
