i have always been a fan of the Mario Party series.

The Mario Party series was made as a multi-player game.
the excitement of the twists and turns of the game and mini-games are much better in the company of other       friends.
so, a lot of people don't like the series
thats why it gets horrendous reviews.

(on a side note, the Megaman Battle Network series get horrible reviews as well, but is still a really good game)
