It's by Kiyohiko Azuma, the mangaka of Azumanga Daioh, except it isn't in four koma. It's about a...6? year old girl who has just moved to a new place with her adoptive father, and the way she experiences new things. It's hilarious and heartwarming all at the same time.

Ummm, gee, I dunno.
So in the early 18th century, a group of alchemists aboard the Advenna Avis succeeded in brewing the elixir of immortality. They decided to not tell anyone about it.
So the actual story of Baccano is split into three arcs, the 1930, 1931, and 1932 arcs. They're named after the name of the light novel each are based after, but I can't remember all of them.
The 1930 arc follows Firo Prochainezo, a young member of the cammora at the age of 19, who has been selected as a capo, and when he gets caught up in a grudge between two of the original immortals from the Advenna Avis, one of whom is like is big brother, and his closest friend, and the other of whom wants to kill said friend.
The 1931 arc follows the events on the Transcontinental Flying Pussyfoot, a train, and the attacks on it by several different factions, include the Russo family's Ladd Russo and his companions, who just want to kill everyone on board, a terrorist organization trying to become immortal, and several other people who are trying to prevent any innocents from dying. Oh, and the Rail Tracer, heh...
The 1932 arc follows Eve Genoard, as she searches for her lost brother Dallas.

Umm, err, well, that was my other goal as well. Right...
But yeah, Eva's fantastic. I heard the manga is much better, but I think it comes out very erratically. And Kaworu kills a kitten.

I think I already mentioned this, but I'll only read online if it's to catch up with it as it comes out in Japan. Or to sample it. Either way though, I'll be sure to check it out.
How was the anime? Was it craptastic, or halfway decent, or good, or what?

I'll read scanlations if I've read all the legally available stuff legally. Which is why I haven't read much, because I don't have much money for manga. Anime, on the other hand, I can get legal streams of, so I've seen much more anime. I'll watch fansubs if it isn't licensed.

Oh, hearing about stuff like that usually intrigues me, so I probably shouldn't cast judgment upon you, should I?
Boys Next Door...sounds like yaoi, which I avoid like the plague.
Oh, I love Ryohgo Narita and his awesome light novels!

I'm assuming you're referring to watching it in Japanese.
I've seen both, and it has one of my favorite dubs, but the Japanese is excellent as well. Either way works well.
So apparently Bones really like this, 'cause not only was the last ending sequel-bait, they're also doing 4 OVAs.

That's been my goal this whole time. Guess all the anime you haven't seen, then post topics about them. Apparently, everything is going according to plan It's good, I haven't watched the movie ending on principle from what I've heard that happens.

I've watched both the anime and read the manga. Personally, the anime has better pacing and is much more fun to watch, and is definitely Bones best job of an anime original ending.
I never got tired of it, it made me laugh and feel fuzzy at times, and it's definitely one of my favorites. I read the manga because it's still going, but I prefer the anime, for sure. Not to say the manga is bad.

I read like, the first six or seven chapters of it, and I was pretty impressed. I'm broke at the moment, so I can't buy any manga, and I'm trying not to use scanlations unless it's for stuff that's not licensed or not licensed that far.
